Cr Joshua Black
Josh is a tireless campaigner for regional and rural issues. A resident of the Dubbo region for over 40 years, Josh was first elected to the Dubbo Regional Council in 2021, and following re-election in 2024, he subsequently assumed the role of mayor at the mayoral election.
After completing his education at Dubbo South High School, Josh worked at the local sheep meat abattoir for several years before earning a Bachelor of Horticultural Science from the University of Western Sydney (previously known as Hawkesbury Agricultural College).
Upon returning to Dubbo, Josh embarked on a 22-year career as a high school teacher and is a primary producer with a farm on the outskirts of Dubbo. Josh enjoys running his farm, observing the region's diverse wildlife, gardening, watching travel programs on TV, and spending time with his family.
