Mr Scott Gallacher
Having grown up in rural communities in New Zealand and working on farms, my career has, at various stages, focused on supporting and enabling rural communities. I also have extensive public and private sector experience in New Zealand, Australia, and more recently, the Isle of Man.
My primary focus is always on serving communities and people, and I look forward to starting this role within the Council, meeting Council staff, working with the Mayor and Councillors to deliver for the people of Goulburn Mulwaree, and engaging with people across the region.
Mr Gallacher brings extensive public sector leadership experience, most recently serving as Chief Officer of the Isle of Man’s Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA), where he led major initiatives including a new Agricultural Strategy, Food Security Plan, and updates to the Energy Strategy. Prior to this, he held senior executive roles within the New Zealand Government across sectors such as animal welfare, biosecurity, fisheries, food safety, and forestry, and worked at Greater Wellington Regional Council as General Manager, Metlink.
