Cr Philip Penfold

Mayor Philip Penfold, is a councillor with 13 years’ experience, including as a former Deputy Mayor. 

A Maitland man born and bred, Philip studied at Maitland Boys High School and Rutherford Technology High School where he was Vice Captain. A former junior with Rutherford Football and Maitland Magpies, Philip was a national martial arts champion in the 90’s and local instructor. 

Cr Penfold had a career in banking where he obtained a Diploma of Financial Services, worked for Commonwealth Bank and became a bank manager at Greater Bank. 

He later established Mortgage Choice at East Maitland and went on to manage a Maitland bowling club. Most recently Philip worked in a management role with an NDIS provider. Philip is a Justice of the Peace and an eager contributor to his community.
