Cr Benjamin Fry
Councillor Benjamin Fry is a businessman and non-executive director based in Bathurst, New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Communications from Charles Sturt University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Viticulture at the same institution.
A creative communications consultant by trade, Cr Fry now focuses on tourism-centric ventures in the Bathurst region. He is the co-owner and Director of BoxGrove Country Retreat, which includes a function centre, vineyard, farm, and luxury accommodation. Through these enterprises, he has significantly boosted the local economy by attracting affluent visitors and enhancing the region’s profile as a destination for authentic experiences.
Cr Fry holds several non-executive director roles. Since 2019, he has served on the Charles Sturt University Council, providing strategic leadership and governance while sitting on the Foresighting (Strategy) Committee and the Finance, Investment & Infrastructure Committee. As Deputy Mayor of Bathurst Regional Council since 2021 and a Council Member of the Upper Macquarie County Council, he plays a pivotal role in regional development, governance, and policy implementation. His involvement includes serving on subcommittees such as ARIC and Floodplain Risk Management, where he applies his expertise in risk management and governance.
Cr Fry is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an active member of other professional agricultural associations.
